WASHINGTON -- Sens. Lindsey Graham and Jim DeMint took off the gloves over immigration Friday in an unusually raw public dispute between two senators from the same state and party.

  In a news release and conference call with reporters, Graham sharply disputed DeMint's claim the immigration accord he helped broker was tantamount to amnesty for foreigners living illegally in the United States.

  "He's factually wrong," Graham said of DeMint. "We're not going to let someone who broke the law jump ahead of those who are playing by the rules."

  Under a large, boldfaced headline "In Case You Missed It," Graham issued a release with quotes from others trashing DeMint's "this is amnesty" claim a day earlier.

 "Amnesty is this term that people want to throw around rather than reading the bill and making the arguments," White House press secretary Tony Snow told CNN, according to the Graham ...
